Annual Breakfast Meeting

The Annual Business Meeting was held at the Four Points Sheraton on May 7th. The most important issue handled at the meeting, however, was the election of a new slate of officers and directors. Members voted to add two new directors and re-positioned some of the existing veteran directors to varied officer positions.

Their service to this organization is an invaluable asset that keeps the Eastham Chamber running. Please seek them out and thank them for their generous contribution of time, dedication and commitment. They are responsible for making the Eastham Chamber a pacesetter organization for which you can be very proud.

In a break from the tradition of combining the Annual Meeting of the Eastham Chamber with a dinner, this year members enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast buffet hosted by the Four Points Sheraton President Desiree Cole (COLEwebdev) reported on the good work that continues with her board of directors and announced the new slate of officers that were approved by the members. She also spoke about her agenda to increase our support equally for both seasonal and year-round businesses.

Treasurer Ron Peterson (Atlantic Well Drilling) delivered the financial report citing that all is well and solvent with no significant change. Executive Director, Jim Russo, recapped the past year’s achievements and noted, with pride, the especially high increase in membership.

Membership Committee Chairman, Michael While (Cape Computer Advisors) presented the  Businessman of the Year award to Nick Nickerson of Arnold’s Lobster & Clam Bar and Arnold’s Mini Golf. He then presented the  Philanthropic Award to Judy Cannon of the Town Crier Motel and Poolside Restaurant.

This year’s guest speaker was Massachusetts State Representative, Sarah Peake. She delivered, as is her signature, an eloquent speech that recognized members attending the meeting by name and personal antidotes, but gave equal time to issues that the business community must face and challenge in the workplace.
