H2B Workers: Please Practice Lawful Hiring Procedures

Recently one of our member businesses had two applicants that were H2B workers at the Chatham Bars Inn. As you know H2B workers are not allowed to work for another employer other than their designated sponsor(s). Hiring another employer’s H2B worker without having filed for that particular worker on your own or in conjunction with the other employer can be subject to a $10,000 fine by the Department of Labor.

Since CBI is housing their H2B workers at Seashore Park on the Orleans/Eastham line It would not be out of the realm of possibility that many other businesses in our area may receive applications and in desperation be tempted to engage their services.

The Eastham Chamber of Commerce encourages the use of all Best Business Practices and suggests that you resist exposing your business and livelihood to unlawful practices.
