PALATE POWER

On a perfect June 8th evening, all the stars were aligned for the Eastham Chamber’s successful production of the Taste of the Cape.

The Ballroom was packed to capacity in honor of the event’s 2017 beneficiary; an organization that contributes to the conservancy of Cape Cod’s heritage, the Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore. With the magnanimous support of the Four Points Sheraton as the facility host, the Cape Codder and Provincetown Banner for print and online advertising, and Dunes Radio, with Scottie Mac and Suzanne Tonaire broadcasting announcements, 180 people were brought together to enjoy the epicurean delights of our culinary partners while swaying to the tunes of the Bert Jackson Quartet.

Our Partners deserve the biggest thanks. They prepared such a overwhelming range of spectacular “Tastes” that it is doubtful that anyone had the capacity to try them all. Arnold’s Lobster & Clam Bar, Bellemy’s at the Four Points Sheraton, Ben and Jerry’s Scoop Shop, C-Shore Kitchen + Bar, Chocolate Café, Friendly Fisherman Fish & Chips, Guapo’s Tortilla Shack, JB’s Pizza, Karoo Restaurant, Mac’s Seafood, Russ & Marie’s Marconi Beach BBQ & Seafood Restaurant, Van Rensselaer’s Restaurant & Raw Bar and The Well Tavern & Kitchen all selflessly donated their preciously little time and money and left their ongoing operation to support this community event and the FCCNS in a very special way.

Recent Friends’ projects include the exterior refurbishment of the Captain Penniman House, the reopening of the Red Maple Swamp Trail and its newest undertaking, repairs to the Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail.
