Whew! It’s September 1st and Labor Day is here. It was a short summer season and flew right by. But September brings a new batch of visitors to the shores of Eastham and we have opportunities to reap more business from this
post-summer influx.
We also have some fantastic events this month (that you can read more below) starting with the 37th Eastham Windmill Weekend, starting Friday, September 5th on the Green and closing with the Parade on Sunday, September 7th.
Eastham’s Windmill Weekend is an annual community festival, a fair, and a family party all rolled into one and is held on the weekend following Labor Day.
Windmill Weekend is a series of events held on Windmill Green and other locations around town. Activities include a sand art competition, road races, band concerts, arts and craft show, tricycle race, and dancing. Continuous entertainment is held on the Green both Saturday and Sunday.
A highlight of the weekend is the public recognition, as Windmill Honorees, of one or more Eastham citizens, who have demonstrated unusual dedication to the town through volunteer activities. Excitement peaks with Sunday’s Parade developed around this year’s theme: Winds of Change!
